10 Bad Habits That Can Lead To Type-2 Diabetes

Midnight Munching

Do you stay up for long hours during the night for work? Well, it would be better if you could change your habits as staying up late makes you feel hungry. Moreover, uneven eating patterns like these cause spikes in your blood sugar levels and even disrupts your insulin secretion, according to research in the British Journal of Nutrition that looked at the effects of eating patterns on night workers. People indulging in late night eating habits often are found to suffer from Type-2 Diabetes.

To calm your nighttime hunger cravings, you should take up three balanced meals every day. This will not only help in calming your cravings, but will even normalize your blood sugar levels, says Barb Klingler, RN, BSN, CDE, diabetes educator at the Washington University Diabetes Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Now, if you are a late-night worker and have to finish your work by staying up late, have healthy foods like carrots and hummus. Also, never ever keep tempting foods like chips, donuts, etc. handy as they would instead increase your weight and will eventually cause more complex health issues.
